WHY: The difference between Poison and Blight is that Blight stacks and can kill enemies. UNLOCK REQUIREMENTS: As Acrid, land the killing blow on 50 total enemies that have 1 hit point left.ĭESCRIPTION: Attacks that apply Poison apply stacking Blight instead, dealing 60% damage per second. Note I didn't include abilities with no alternate option, but I do explain their usage later in this section This section outlines different abilities I recommend you use with Acrid. This works amazingly with Acrid's Epidemic ability, allowing you to Poison or Blight more enemies! Add 1 (+1 per stack) charge of your Special skill. Damage and radius increase as the item is stacked. Instead of detonating on kill, enemies detonate if hit while at full health. Voidsent Flame - Corrupts all Will-o'-the-wisps. After a short time, enemies with Collapse are collapsed for 400% base damage. If the bleed debuff isn't enough for you, the Needletick might solve your problems. Needletick - Corrupts all Tri-Tip Daggers. ![]() Each hit from Epidemic can trigger this, making it a solid choice for an uncommon item. Ukelele - a 25% chance to fire chain lightning on 3 (+2 per stack) targets within 20m (+2m per stack). With 10 Lens-Maker's Glasses, you have a heal much more powerful than a Leeching Seed. Harvester's Scythe - Heals you for 8 HP (+4 HP per stack) when you critically hit an enemy. Will-o'-the-wisp - On kill, a lava pillar spawns in a 12m (+2.4m a stack) radius for 350% (+280% a stack) base damage. Acrid can rapidly spread debuffs from items and his own attacks to enemies with his special ability Epidemic, so get these if you can. Tri-Tip Dagger - Get 10 of these to always bleed enemies on hit. This works with Acrid's melee attacks best. This synergizes with Harvester's Scythe, which heals you when you critically hit enemies.įocus Crystal - Each crystal increases damage to nearby enemies by 20%. Lens-Maker's Glasses - Get 10 of these for guaranteed critical strikes, which deal double damage. Get a few of these to speed through or away from groups of enemies or tanky enemies when needed. One of these grants a 15 HP barrier on kill (the barrier is only temporary).Įnergy Drink - Acrid is good with hit-and-run tactics. ![]() Topaz Brooch - Acrid has no natural defense, so this helps Acrid stay healthy and robust. Ignition tanks drastically increase the damage of Gasoline, so get these as well. Gasoline - essential for hordes, you can use a melee attack (such as Vicious Wounds) to maul an enemy and watch the rest of 'em get roasted. Note that I didn't include legendary (red) items in this section of the guide. ![]() Acrid can easily dish out damage-over-time effects, so area-of-effect items are essential. Some of his favorite games include Enter the Gungeon, the Infamous franchise, Assassin's Creed 2, Hades, Bastion, Transistor, Remnant 2, Bloodborne, and Street Fighter 6.You'll need to know particular items that are amazing with Acrid. ![]() Jacob has a deep love and respect for any artist in the gaming industry, especially in regard to character design or UI/UX design, since he has illustration, design, and motion graphic experience himself. He is also someone with a relatively diverse background in the creative industry, as can be seen in his portfolio website. Additionally, Jacob Buchalter is an absolute lore fiend when it comes to any IP, and will almost always have all the lore in his brain ready to gush about if ever given the excuse. After all, people who get into games love having that knowledge in their brain, accessible at any time. Jacob is also a perfectionist to his own detriment, as he'll almost always at least triple-check any information he puts into any article to make sure it's correct. Jacob Buchalter is a full-time writer, contract writer, and all-around creative who truly cares a bit too much about pop culture media, art, and all things gaming. However, in exchange, Loader has 4 times as much base Health Regen, so the trade-off is more than worth it, especially for those who like to play solo. In the original Risk of Rain, Loader would gain 42 HP per level, while now she only gains 40. Loader is also another one who has been (very slightly) nerfed between games. Yet somehow, it feels more finicky to grapple Loader up onto ledges now than it ever did in the original. It's also worth noting that in the original game, Loader's Hydraulic Gauntlet could only be sent straight forward, not diagonally like it can be in Risk of Rain Returns. Obviously, it's more based on the original Risk of Rain's Loader, but considering how absurdly strong the Loader is in Risk of Rain 2 with things like Kjaro's Bands and Crowbars the RoRR version still isn't nearly as strong. Last up is Loader, and this is another one that's an example of a Survivor whose mechanics in their Risk of Rain 2 version were sort of integrated into their Risk of Rain Returns iteration.
